Coach Ivy's Journey

Coach Ivy’s journey over the last decade has been intertwined with the vibrant basketball community of Vancouver, BC. Embracing the role of a player development coach, He has been contributing to the growth of numerous schools, clubs, and programs in the region. This hands- on involvement has granted him a unique perspective into the subtle nuances of cultivating well- rounded players. From refining technical skills to nurturing the mental fortitude required for success on and off the court, he has witnessed the transformative power of dedicated coaching.

Coach Ivy is a former assistant Coach for both the Simon Fraser University (SFU) Men's Basketball Team, competing in the GNAC within the NCAA Division II, and the Capilano University Men's Basketball Team, competing in the PACWEST division of the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). These roles have honed his coaching acumen and fostered a deep appreciation for the art of coaching, player development, and team dynamics at the collegiate level.

In addition to his extensive experience as a basketball coach, Ivy has also worked for many years as a youth leader and childcare leader, working with youth from different walks of life. His experience in these roles has given him a unique perspective on the challenges facing young people today and has helped him develop a deep understanding of how to motivate and inspire young athletes to achieve their full potential.
